An OpenTelemetry Collector distribution that simplifies observability data collection and forwarding, providing a vendor-agnostic way to gather telemetry from various sources.
We use Grafana Alloy as an OpenTelemetry gateway in our production infrastructure. Alloy agents are installed directly on production machines where they collect telemetry data, which is then forwarded to a central Alloy instance. This central instance acts as a distribution hub, routing the collected observability data to appropriate downstream services and backends for processing and analysis.
